An enterprise website is made of several parts, and its price is made of the same parts. Every company brings its own requirements to the build, so the only way to put a number on it is to cost the parts separately and add them up.
1. The domain
Short domains, and domains carrying an unusual string, command high prices. Most newly registered domains do not: a few tens to a hundred or so RMB a year is typical, and that is the line most companies actually spend on.
2. The server
Servers come in several types and the price range is wide. What most companies choose between is a cloud host and shared space. Shared space is cheaper; a cloud host is more stable. Either way the figure runs from a few hundred to a few thousand RMB a year, and for a corporate site a few hundred a year is usually enough to start.
3. The build itself
This is the substantial line. Self-service builders are the cheapest option at a few hundred to a few thousand RMB, and they are priced on a fixed schedule. Custom development generally starts at ten to twenty thousand. What the difference buys is a site shaped to your own requirements rather than a configuration of someone else’s — and since requirements differ in size, so does the price.
4. Filing
Filing itself normally costs nothing, and many development companies include it as part of the service. A minority charge an administration fee for handling it. Either way it is a small line, and worth confirming which side of it your supplier falls on before the contract is signed rather than after.
