The design dimension for PC web pages is 1920 by 1080 pixels.
Pixel density is the number of pixels per inch of screen; the higher the density, the richer the detail of the displayed image. Pixel density equals the square root of (horizontal pixels squared plus vertical pixels squared), divided by the screen size.
Screen resolution refers to the number of pixels along the horizontal and vertical axes, in px. It determines how much information a computer screen displays, measured in horizontal and vertical pixels. On screens of the same size, a lower resolution (for example 640 by 480) means fewer pixels displayed and larger individual pixels, while a higher resolution (for example 1600 by 1200) means more pixels and smaller ones.
Display resolution is the number of pixels shown on the screen; a resolution of 160 by 128 means 160 pixels horizontally and 128 vertically. For the same screen size, the higher the resolution, the finer and more delicate the display.
Ratios: 4:3, 5:4, 16:10, 16:9 and 21:9. 4:3 is the most common screen ratio; 16:10 is the familiar “widescreen” ratio; 16:9 is mainly the ratio used by HD televisions. The familiar 720p and 1080p are both in this ratio.
