For a business planning a WeChat mall mini program, the first step is not the product. It is choosing who will build it, and that decision constrains everything that follows.
Three things are worth checking before signing anything.
1. Are the basic functions actually there?
A mall mini program needs a core set: marketing, distribution, group buying, flash sales, coupons, bargaining. Those are the mechanics a storefront runs on, and their absence is not a detail to be added later.
Once the basics are covered, more functions and better stability at a lower price is the natural preference. But check the basics first, because a company that has to build the core mechanics from scratch is quoting for a different project than the one you described.
2. Are there instructions?
The detail of how a function works is where clients get stuck, and getting stuck without documentation turns into operating cost: staff time, support calls, features that exist and are never used.
A serious company supplies proper usage instructions, and video is better than text for this. It is a small thing that reveals how much attention the supplier pays to what happens after delivery.
3. Does support hold up?
Two questions, not one. Will the system be updated on a schedule? And when something goes wrong in ordinary use, as it will, can it be fixed quickly?
The first tells you whether the product will still be current in two years. The second tells you whether you will be able to run the business on the day it breaks. Ask both, and ask what the response time actually is rather than whether support exists.
