A mini program’s worth comes down to two numbers — how many customers it has and how much daily traffic it carries — so improving its competitive position means working on both. Four channels are worth the effort.
1. Niche forums
Topical forums — weight loss, parenting, mothers’ groups — can be worked with advertorial content, live sessions and shared tips to build an audience and pull qualified traffic. It is slow, it takes months, and posts get deleted. But qualified traffic has to be earned somewhere, and copying what competitors already do saves some of the trial and error.
2. Chat groups
Joining or running groups in QQ or WeChat is the other route. Joining means finding groups in the relevant niche; running your own means picking a city large enough to support it. A group you own grows slowly, but the traffic is more useful for later marketing and you control it.
3. Interest communities
Interest-based platforms in the same niches hold the targeted audience. If you are not sure how to work them, study how a competitor does it, borrow the method, and test it repeatedly — that is how the qualified traffic is found.
4. Established apps
Smartphones made app platforms mainstream, and in most consumer niches there are now two or three apps where the audience already gathers. Those are the ponds worth fishing in: the people are there, the intent is there, and the only question is whether your offer reaches them.
None of these is fast. What they have in common is that the traffic is specific — people who already care about the subject — which is worth more than a larger number of people who do not.
