There is no fixed development timeline for a mini program. Every company has different requirements, different requirements mean different difficulty, and different difficulty means a different amount of time. Here are the factors that affect the schedule, so you can estimate for yourself.
1. Development method. There are two approaches, template development and custom development. Template development applies an industry template and then replaces images and content on top of it, which is easier and therefore quicker. A template build is usually completed in about one month. Custom development builds each page and each function separately according to the company’s requirements, which is harder and takes longer, typically one to one and a half months, and longer still if the requirements are complex.
2. The development partner. Most companies outsource development to a third party, in other words they work with a specialist mini program developer. How professional that partner is directly affects the schedule. An experienced company can use its experience to build quickly. An inexperienced one often cannot solve problems that come up during development quickly, and the time required extends considerably. Take a custom-built mall mini program with only basic functions: an experienced developer can usually complete it in one month.
3. Functions. A mini program can implement a great many functions. A mall mini program, for example, can include product display, shopping cart, payment, customer service and logistics tracking. The more functions a company needs, and the more complex they are, the longer the build takes; fewer and simpler functions shorten the cycle. One warning: do not cut functions that should be there simply to save time. Doing so damages the user experience, and once the experience suffers users will not accept the program, which means it loses its value.
